There are hundreds of Florida hotels near Disney World. Only fifteen of those hotels are official Disney operated properties situated within the Disney World Park. The rest of the hotels are independently operated establishments located outside of the park. All of the Disney hotels are very nice properties with various theme-oriented designs, excellent amenities and the renowned outstanding Disney service. They offer certain advantages over the non-Disney-hotels, but they also cost a bit more than comparable independent hotels. The Disney hotel prices range from moderately priced to very expensive.

Many of the independent hotels not operated by Disney are also very nice and their prices are often a bit less expensive. Most of them are located within a half hour drive of Disney World, and most offer free transportation to and from Disney World, Sea World or Universal Studios. Some of the independent hotels are located at Lake Buena Vista (adjacent to Disney World). Some are located along route 192 in Kissimmee (about 15 minutes drive from Disney World). Others are located along International Blvd. (between Disney World and Universal Studios).
